RIPON, Wis. - Going into Wednesday's game against St. Norbert,
it was pretty clear what the Red Hawks needed to do in order to
make the Midwest Conference Tournament. Win and they're in was
the philosophy, but the Green Knights didn't cooperate, defeating
the Red Hawks 30-25, 30-20, 30-27, guaranteeing St. Norbert a spot
in the conference tourney.
Ripon was led by Bethany Patten's 10 kills. Patten finished with
a .450 hitting percentage, as she made just one attack error. Ashley
Redman set Patten up on many of her points, as Redman finished
the match with 21 assists. Amy Patton and Sara Heim combined for
50 digs for the Red Hawks.
The Green Knights were led by Joanna Mamayek and Crystal McClure,
who recorded 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Abby Scher and Amy
Perszyk combined for 40 assists in the win.
Ripon will now finish up the season Saturday with two matches
at Storzer Center. The Red Hawks will first play Marian College
at 10:00 a.m., followed by a match against UW-Stevens Point at
Noon.
