Men Finish Third, Women Fourth At Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Red Hawks traveled just up the road Friday night to compete against several quality teams. Joining Ripon at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational were UW-Oshkosh, UW-Parkside, and North Central College (IL). The Red Hawk men managed to finish third in the meet, while the women came in fourth in total points.

The men's team earned 31.5 points on the night, which were 14.5 ahead of UW-Parkside. Ripon's Demba Camara posted the best finish by a Red Hawk, as he placed third in the long jump with a distance of 19-10.25. Camara was also fifth in the triple jump. Jim Hein and Bryan Schneider each earned five points for fourth place finishes. Hein was fourth in the 3000 meter run, while Schneider earned his place in the 5000 meter run.

Ripon's women's team had their best finishes in the 5000 meter run and the triple jump. In the 5000 meters, Ripon's Erin Beggs and Rebecca Duley finished third and fourth, respectively. Beggs ran a time of 20:53.29, while Duley posted a final time of 21:21.32. The Red Hawks also placed third and fourth in the triple jump, as Jill Jones and Amy Krueger each earned points. Jones jumped a distance of 31-02.00, while Krueger earned a distance of

26-03.75.

Next week, Ripon will return to Oshkosh for another UW-Oshkosh Invitational. The meet will begin at 9:30 p.m.
