Men Finish 10th, Women 12th At UW-Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. - Ripon traveled to UW-Oshkosh over the weekend to compete against 16 other schools. The men's team finished the meet in 10th place out of 17 with 13.5 team points, while the women's team finished 12th out of 16 schools with 10 team points.

The men's team had athletes place in four different events. Jim Hein earned the highest finish, grabbing fourth place in the 1500 with a time of 4:10.82. Max Bellmore also placed, finishing tied for seventh in the high jump with a height of 6-01.5. The other events Ripon placed were both relays. Bakary Dao, Abdoul Madjid, Andrew Handeland, and Jamie Reese teamed up for a sixth place finish in the 4x100 with a time of 44.95, while Reese, Bellmore, Harrison Smith, and Nick Pesik finished eighth in the 4x400 with a time of 3:42.24.

The Ripon women were led by Jenni Marcell, who finished sixth in both the shot put and hammer throw with distances of 38-09.5 and 142-08, respectively. Ripon's 4x400 relay team of Amy Krueger, Jessica Davey, Rebecca Duley, and Erin Beggs finished seventh with a time of 4:44.41.

Ripon will try to improve on their finishes next weekend at the Wisconsin Lutheran Invite. That meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Milwaukee.
