Red Hawks Competitive Against Stiff Competition At UW-O

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Red Hawks went up against the likes of UW-Oshkosh, North Central College, and St. Norbert at Friday’s meet in Oshkosh, with Ripon’s men finishing fourth, while their women finished fifth. UW-Oshkosh won both the men’s and women’s competitions.

The men’s team was led by Jim Hein, who won the 5K run with a time of 15:35.73. Bakary Dao and Bob Wood also placed in the top four for the Red Hawks in their respective events. Dao ran a time of 6.73 in the 55 meter dash, while Wood ran a time of 8.30 in the 55 meter hurdles. Jamie Reese and Max Bellmore also earned top four finishes in the 400 and triple jump, respectively.

The Red Hawk women had top four finishers in three different events, led by Rebecca Duley’s third place finish in the 5K, with a time of 20:20.26. Jessica Davey came in fourth place in the 3K, while Ripon’s 4x400 relay team of Duley, Whitney Levash, Amy Krueger, and Amanda Beers also finished fourth.

Ripon will now travel to Kenosha on Saturday, February 2nd to take part in the Tadd Metzger Invite. That meet will begin at 11:00 a.m.
