RIPON, Wis. - Senior thrower Jenni Marcell competed in a pair of Last Chance meets last week in what was her final performance as a Red Hawk. The D.C. Everest product broke two Ripon College throwing records during the meets at Central College (IA) and Augustana (IL), respectively.

At the Central College (IA) “Last Chance Meet” on Wednesday, Marcell broke her own school record in the hammer with a toss of 146’7”, breaking the mark she set last year of 144’9&3/4”. She followed up that performance by setting a new school record in the shot put at the Augustanna (IL) “Last Chance Meet” on Friday. Her throw of 42’9&3/4” broke the previous mark set by Jesse Loberg of 42’6” in 1998. Marcell’s throw in the shot put was also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA national meet.  She currently is ranked 22nd in the nation in the event.
