RIPON, Wis. - For the first time this season, a Ripon College track athlete earned a Midwest Conference Performer of the Week award. Senior Jim Hein earned the honor, thanks to his performance at Saturday's Tadd Metzger Invite on the campus of Carthage College.

Hein set a new school record in the 800 meter dash, running a time of 1:58.73, placing him fourth in the event at Saturday's meet. That time breaks the previous record, which was also set by Hein, in 2006. The Ripon native was also a part of the Red Hawk's third-place distance medley relay team, which recorded a time of 11:10.99.
