TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Coming off a school record-breaking throw of 43'1".75 in the shot put at last week's Midwest Conference Championships, Jeni Marcell had high hopes going into the weekend's Division III Track and Field Championships. At the meet on Saturday, Marcell finished 13th out of 16 individuals in the shot put, throwing a distance of 40'2".

That finish was a nice end to an excellent indoor season for the Junior from Mosinee, Wis. In addition to her new school record in the shot put, Marcell also set a Ripon College record in the weight throw. At the MWC Championships last weekend, she threw a distance of 45'9".25 in that event. Marcell will now gear up for Ripon's outdoor season, which begins March 31 in the Sherman-Lukoski Invite, held at Ingalls Field in Ripon.
