Three Red Hawks competed in a pair of Last Chance Meets last week, finishing with incredible performances. Latasha Carter placed in the top four in two events at Central College (IA), while Jenni Marcell and Brittany Dick each set new school records at North Central College (IL).

Carter finished third in the 100 meters and fourth in the 200 meters at Central, before placing fifth and seventh, respectively at North Central. Marcell took fifth place in the shot at Central, before turning out an incredible performance at North Central. They junior broke her own school record in the hammer at the meet, throwing a distance of 144-09.75. At that meet, she also broke the school record in the disc with a throw of 136-04.5, which is an NCAA provisionally qualifying distance. Marcell also placed fifth in the hammer and third in the disc. Dick also joined the record breaking action, smashing her own school record in the steeple chase by over eight seconds, with a time of 10:59.14.
