Jennifer Davis is in her first year as head coach of the Ripon swimming & diving team. Davis is a graduate of UW-Oshkosh, where she competed as a member of the swim team for three years. Davis graduated from UW-O with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion.
A native of Appleton, Wis., Davis attended UW-River Falls for one year prior to her time at UW-Oshkosh. Davis is certified in American Red Cross Advance lifesaving and water safety and American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. She has served as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for six years.
"I know that Jennifer will be a great addition to our coaching staff. She has the background and experience to take our swimming program to the next level," said Ripon Athletic Director Bob Gillespie. "Rick Coles did a great job resurrecting the program, and Jennifer will continue that success."
Davis has many years of experience with swimming as she started at the age of four and has swam at many different levels, including YMCA, high school and college. She has enhanced her swimming knowledge and skills by coaching ultimate conditioning and strength and conditioning and the triathlon, while also serving as a personal trainer, volunteer at the Special Olympics, sports counselor and rehab/therapy assistant. For the past several years, Davis has been the manager at a country club in Appleton.
Davis takes over a men's team that finished fourth out of 10 teams at the 2009 Midwest Conference Championships. The Ripon women finished sixth at the 2009 MWC Championships.
