17 Red Hawks Named Academic All-Conference

RIPON, Wis. - The Midwest Conference released its list of 2007-08 Winter Academic All-Conference selections on Wednesday, with Ripon College making up 17 of the 269 spots, which consisted of student-athletes from all ten conference schools. Ripon's indoor track & Field team led the way with eight selections, followed by swimming's five, and women's basketball and men's basketball, which consisted of three and one, respectively.

The Indoor Track & Field team was made up of five men and three women, led by seniors Jim Hein, Jenni Marcell, Bryan Schneider, and Harrison Smith. Erin Beggs was the lone junior representative, while sophomores Brad Bogenschurtz, Jessica Davey, and Andrew Peck also made the team.

The Red Hawk swim team earned five selections, two men and three women. Ryan Hendricks and Matt Stensberg were the only juniors to be named to the team, joining sophomores Lauren Kelly, Jenni Schalla, and Davida Smith.

All three Ripon women's basketball selections earned the honor for the second consecutive year. Tiffany Goebel and Christina Schneider represented the senior class, while junior Jeni Yaeger was also selected for the second straight time. Rich Cloeter was the only Ripon men's basketball player selected to the team, also earning the honor for the second consecutive year.
