RIPON, Wis. - Ripon College finally got a chance to show their talent in front of their home crowd at Friday night's double dual event against fellow Midwest Conference schools Beloit and St. Norbert, and what a show it was. In what was the Red Hawk's first home swim meet in several years, the Red Hawk men and women each notched victories over the Buccaneers and Green Knights in impressive fashion.

The men's team defeated Beloit 107 to 89, before disposing of St. Norbert 144 to 0. They were led by Parker Heaps and Austin McNeal, who each won two events. Heaps finished first in the 1650 yard and 100 yard freestyles with times of 18:41.10 and 52.47, respectively. McNeal ended up winning the 400 yard IM and 200 yard backstroke with times of 5:14.58 and 2:17.73, respectively. C.J. Wagner and Ryan Hendricks also earned first place finishes in one event apiece. Wagner swam a time of 1:53.78 in the 200 yard freestyle for a first-place finish, while Hendricks won the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:30.72. Heaps, Hendricks, and Wagner were also on Ripon's winning 400 yard freestyle relay team, along with Zach Smith.

Ripon's women's team fared just as well as the men, defeating Beloit 56 to 39, while also beating St. Norbert 60 to 34. Jenni Schalla led the way for the Red Hawk women, winning both the 400 yard IM and 200 yard breaststroke, finishing with times of 5:14.81 and 2:41.72, respectively. Megan Rice also earned a first-place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, which she completed in 27.21. Katie Corbett also won an event, finishing first in the 200 yard backstroke, with a time of 2:23.09. The Red Hawk women also won both of their relay events. The team of Corbett, Schalla, Rice, and Amy Jones finished first in the 200 yard medley relay, while the team of Rice, Corbett, Jones, and Shannon Colburn won the 400 yard freestyle relay.

The Red Hawks will go back on the road next weekend, as they'll travel to Appleton, Wis. for a relay meet with Lawrence University. That meet will begin on Saturday, Nov. 17th at 1:00 p.m.
