BELOIT, Wis. - Ripon took part in the Beloit Triangular Friday night, in hopes of besting two other Midwest Conference Schools, Carroll and Beloit. The Red Hawk women took home second place among the three squads, finishing 79 points behind Beloit. The men's team meanwhile finished in third, 68 points behind second-place Carroll College.

The Ripon women, who scored 311 team points, were led by Megan Rice and Jenni Schalla, as each of them won two events apiece. Rice won the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyles with times of 27.44 and 59.22, respectively, while Schalla was victorious in both the 400 yard IM and 100 yard breaststroke. Katie Corbett also managed to win an event, as she was the top swimmer in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.48. The Red Hawks also combined to win the 400 yard medley relay, which was swam by Rice, Schalla, Corbett, and Amy Jones. They won that relay by eight seconds, with a time of 4:31.16.

The men's team also had a couple individual winners, as Parker Heaps won two separate events, while Ryan Hendricks and Zach Smith each won one. Heaps showed his versatility with wins in both the 1650 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle. Hendricks was the winner of the 400 yard IM with a time of 5:00.41, while Smith was first in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.29.

The Red Hawks will look to keep improving next week with a meet at Lawrence University. The festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m. in Appleton, Wis. in what will be their final tune up before the Wisconsin Private College Championships.
