Red Hawks Finish Second At Beloit

BELOIT, Wis. - The Ripon Swim team traveled to Beloit over the weekend for a meet against the Buccaneers. After all was said and done though, Beloit took the victory. The men's team lost by a score of 112-60, while the women fared a little better, dropping their meet, 106-89.

The men's team had three swimmers win their respective events. Ryne Larson took home first place in the 400-yard IM, with a time of 5:13.60, which was 43 seconds ahead of the second place swimmer. Parker Heaps and Ryan Hendricks also won their respective events, with Heaps winning the 500-yard freestyle, and Hendricks taking home first in the 100-yard breaststroke. Larson, Hendricks, and Heaps also teamed up with Bruce Kukowski to win the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:50.54, which was one second ahead of the second place team.

The women's team saw three individuals take home first, as Shannon Colburn won the 500-yard freestyle, Nicole Franz won the 1650-yard freestyle, and Becca LaClair won the 100-yard butterfly. The Red Hawk women fared very well in the relay events on Saturday, winning the 200-yard medley relay and the 800-yard freestyle relay
