RIPON, Wis. – The Ripon softball team will be holding pitching and hitting camps on three separate weekends this winter. The camps will be held on February 7 and 21 and March 7 with the pitching camps beginning at 9 a.m. and the hitting camps starting at 1 p.m. All camps will be open to grades 8-12, with the exception of the first pitching camp, which will serve ages 10 and under. The camps will take place at Storzer Center on the campus of Ripon College. The cost is $40 for one session, $65 for two and $100 for all three.
The camps will be instructed by Ripon softball head coach Jen Mueller and assistant coach Dennis Lauer. They will present all group lectures and instructional demonstrations personally, with the help of other current Ripon coaches and players. All proceeds from the camp will go towards supporting the Ripon College softball team's spring trip to Orlando, Fla.
The winter camps are designed to give student-athletes the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques and to practice and refine those skills prior to their spring season. Each session will include verbal instruction, visual demonstration and individual and mass participation drills. A variety of progressions will be used to advance the skill level of each student-athlete. Each participant is requested to supply her own bat, if possible.
