MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Red Hawks had an easy day at the office Wednesday afternoon, sweeping their non-conference doubleheader against Milwaukee School of Engineering. Ripon was victorious 8-0 in the first game, and hit the ball all over the diamond in game two, winning 22-0. They scored their 30 runs in the two games on 28 hits, including 10 for extra-bases.

The first batter of the first game foreshadowed things to come, as Natalie Geenen cracked her fourth home run of the season to lead off the top of the first. Jackie Reichhart and Andrea Knorr added RBIs later in the inning for a

3-0 Ripon lead before MSOE (0-19) even came to the plate.

The Red Hawks (9-9) added one run each in the third an fourth inning, before scoring twice in the fifth on a two-run double by Jessica Goudreau. Ashley Kirst capped the scoring the following inning with an RBI single, allowing Megan Sockness to cross the plate.

Knorr (6-5) pitched five innings of two-hit ball for the win, while striking out six batters. Reichhart and Goudreau were both perfect at the plate in the game, each going 2-for-2 with two RBI apiece.

The second game of the day was practically over before it began, with Ripon rattling off nine runs in the opening inning, which saw 13 Ripon batters come to the plate. Reichhart got them on the board with a two-run double, while Abby Richeson also drove in a pair of runs in the inning with a double of her own. Two runs in the inning scored on a wild pitch, while two more crossed the plate because of an MSOE error.

Ripon added four runs the following inning and after going scoreless in the third, scored nine more in the fourth. The fourth inning saw another 13 Red Hawks come to the plate and was highlighted by a triple from Krista Shafer, which drove in two runs.

Freshman Alli Jensen had the game of her career in the nightcap, as she went 4-for-4 at the plate, with four RBI and four runs scored. She also recorded her first extra-base hit of the season, a double in the second inning. Shafer and Reichhart each finished the second game with three hits apiece, while Richeson and Kirst each produced two. Knorr (7-5) picked up her second win of the day, pitching just one inning and recording outs on all three batters she faced.

The Red Hawks will hope to keep their momentum going this weekend, when they'll finally get to play their first conference game of the season. They will travel to Beloit for a doubleheader on Saturday, before facing St. Norbert at home on Sunday, in a game that was rescheduled from earlier in the season. Both doubleheaders will begin at 1:00 p.m.
