Great Lakes All-Region Teams

RIPON, Wis. - On the same day that Krista Shafer earned her third career All-Conference selection, the senior was also named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Great Lakes All-Region team for the first time. Shafer, who started all 32 games at second base for the Midwest Conference Champions, was a third-team All-Region selection, joining six other Midwest Conference players on the team.

Shafer was one of two captains on the team and her hitting and fielding did a lot of the talking for her. The Oakfield, Wis. native was third on the team with a .412 batting average, which included a team-high nine doubles. Shafer was also second on the team with three triples and 25 runs scored, while ranking third among Red Hawks with 18 RBI.
