ORLANDO, Fla. - The Red Hawks moved their season record to 7-0 Wednesday with a sweep of Calumet College of St. Joseph (IN). Ripon was able to win in two vastly different ways. The Red Hawk's bats got hot in the first game, which they won 10-1. Game two was a pitching duel, with Ripon squeaking out a 1-0 win to complete the sweep.

Game one was a pitching duel for a while, but that didn't last forever. Ripon broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the fourth inning. Jen Mueller got them on the board with a two-run single. They would get their other run that inning when Jessica Goudreau scored on an error by the catcher.

After holding Calumet in their half of the fourth inning, Ripon scored four more runs in the fifth. The inning was highlighted by three consecutive singles by Tara Rabideaux, Krista Shafer, and Stephanie Sumner. All three of those runners would come around to score. Goudreaux accounted for the fourth run of the inning.

The Red Hawks added three more runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach. T.Rabideaux, Shafer, Sumner, and Mueller all had two hits apiece. Mueller also added 4 RBI, while Sumner recorded two. In addition to Mueller's great day at the plate, she also had a great day on the mound, allowing three hits in 5.1 innings, while allowing just one run.

Both teams were held in check for the majority of the second game. Each team managed just three hits, but Ripon strung a couple together in the fourth inning to score the game's only run. Bethany Mehlberg and Jackie Reichhart singled back-to-back to lead off the inning. Mehlberg would later score on a groundout by Joelle Shady. Ripon's Andrea Knorr pitched all seven innings for the Red Hawks, striking out two batters in the process.

Ripon will look to come home with their perfect record in tact as they'll play their final two games of their spring trip Thursday against Avila University (KS). Game one of the doubleheader is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. EST.
