Fall 2006 Red Hawks of the Week

Brittany Dick

| Brittany placed 16th overall out of 268 runners at the NCAA Division III Regional by running a career-best 6K time of 22:10. Brittany was the seventh individual qualifier not on a qualifying team to make the Championships from the Midwest Region. She is the third Ripon runner in as many years to advance to Nationals, which will be held on November 18th in Wilmington, Ohio. |

Ryne Larson

| Larson won the 400-yard IM in convincing fashion Saturday at the Beloit Invitational. Larson swam a time of 5:13.60, which was 43 seconds ahead of second place. Larson was also a part of the 200-yard medley team that also took first place with a winning time of 1:50.54 |

| Amy helped Ripon to fourth place tie with the Marquette swim club. The Red Hawks finished with 146 points as a team. Jones was the highest finisher from Ripon in the individual women's competition, finishing third in the 200 yard breaststroke, with a time of 2:49.37. Jones was also a part of Ripon's 400 yard freestyle relay team that finished first with a time of 4:09.30. That time was eight seconds better than Carroll's second place time. |

| Kellett helped set the tone in Ripon's regular season finale, a 31-14 win at Lawrence. The junior safety helped get Ripon on the board first, as he recorded a sack and a forced fumble which Lawrence recovered in their own endzone for a first quarter Ripon safety and a 2-0 lead. Kellett also recorded four tackles (3 solo), while recovering a fumble and breaking up a pass as well. |

| Whitney ran a career best 5K time of 21:14 at the MWC Championships in Waukesha, Wis. on Saturday, helping to lead Ripon to a school-best second place finish at the meet. Whitney finished 26th out of 131 runners in the race. Whitney was a major difference maker in the meet. |

| Olm was Ripon's leading rusher Saturday, running for 133 yards on 19 carries (7.0 avg.) as the Red Hawks set a school record for rushing yards with 535 combined yards on the ground. Olm also scored two touchdowns, scoring on runs of one and 10 yards. The Red Hawks defeated Grinnell College 55-14. |

| Mary Friend has emerged as one of the Red Hawk's top players
this season. This past weekend, Friend played in all 14 games
at the Emory University Invitational, averaging 4.1 assists
per game. Ripon dropped all four matches against tough competition. |

| Kellett kept Ripon in the game Saturday,
as he led a defense that held St. Norbert's league leading
pass offense to just 88 yards through the air. Kellett recorded
five tackles (3 solo), while also intercepting two passes,
returning them for a combined 12 yards. |

Women's Cross
Country Team

| The Women's Cross Country team
had an outstanding weekend. They won the Wisconsin Private
College Championship for the first time in school history,
finishing 14 points ahead of second place Beloit and St.
Norbert. Five runners ran their season best times, while
earning one first team all-state honor and three second team
all-state honors. |

| Smith helped the men's cross country team
to a fourth place finish in the Wisconsin Private College
Championships at Beloit, Wis. Smith finished 11th overall
out of 92 runners, running an 8K time of 27:49. Smith was
named Second Team All-State for his efforts. |

| Erin has been running very well
this fall. In cross country five runners score in a meet.
In the first meet she was the number 6 runner, since then
she has been no lower than 4th. Erin has been one of the
reasons the cross country team has been successful
to this point. No one works harder than Erin and that is
reflected in her meet performances. |

| Quillman scored two goals over the weekend,
inluding the only goal by either team in Ripon's first win
of the season, a 1-0 victory over Knox College on Sunday.
Quillman also scored a game-tying goal Saturday against conference
leader Grinnell, who came back to defeat the Red Hawks 3-2
on a goal with one second remaining. |

| Kiszonas made quite a comeback
in her singles match Sunday against Carroll College's Casey
Anderson. After losing the first set 2-6, Kiszonas battled
back to win the second set 6-2. The third and final set was
hard fought by both sides, but Kiszonas was able to defeat
Anderson 7-5 in what was one of the longest matches of the
season. |

| Perkins had an outstanding game Saturday,
helping the Red Hawks win their fourth consecutive game to
start the conference season, winning at Carroll, 21-14. Perkins
ran the ball 21 times for 185 yards and two touchdowns, including
a 62-yarder, which put Ripon up 14-0. Perkins averaged 8.8
yards per carry in the game. |

| Heckl had one of her best outings
of the year Wednesday, shooting a tournament best 83 at the
St. Norbert Invitational. She also helped lead the Red Hawks
to a tournament win, as they defeated the Green Knights 380-396.
Heckl then shot a two-round 176 over the weekend at the UW-Whitewater
Invitational, which was tied for 24th out of 103 golfers. |

| Fehly intercepted a pass and returned it 60
yards for a touchdown in Ripon's 31-21 win over Illinois
College. That touchdown gave Ripon an early 14-0 lead, giving
the Red Hawks a defensive touchdown for the third consecutive
game. Fehly also handled the kickoff return duties, returning
three kicks for 40 yards, an average of 13.3 yards per return,
which included a long of 18 yards. |

| Jessica had an outstanding weekend,
finishing first out of 75 runners at the Concordia (Wis.)
Invitational. Jessica finished with a 6K time of 24:52, which
helped lead the Ripon women to a third place finish in the
team standings with 49 points, which was just two points
behind second place. |

| Josh Kraemer contributed in many ways during
Ripon's 35-14 victory over Knox College. The defensive back
recorded six tackles, four of them solo, while also sacking
the Prairie Fire quarterback once. Kraemer also intercepted
a pass and returned it 40 yards. The Waukesha, Wis. native
also returned three punts for 102 yards, including a 56-yarder
that set up the Red Hawks final touchdown. |

| Jones led Ripon to a 1-1 record
last week, as she was the only Red Hawk that scored in the
two games. Jones scored both goals in Ripon's 2-0 win at
Lakeland, helping the Red Hawks win their second straight
game to start the season. That gave her four goals through
the first two games. |

| Jotham made one of the biggest and most exciting
plays of the game in Ripon's 35-27 win over Lake Forest in
the conference opener. Darrin intercepted a Forester pass
and took it 30 yards for the score to break open a close
game. Darrin also recorded a fumble recovery and a tackle
for the Red Hawks. Darrin was named Midwest Conference Defensive
Player of the Week for his effort. |

| Dick had an outstanding time in
Ripon's first invitational of the year, at St. Norbert. The
junior from Amherst, Wis. broke her career best record, while
finishing second out of 116 runners with a time of 19:23.
She also helped lead the women's team to a second place finish
in the invitational. |

| Schneider began the year off with a bang,
placing second out of 93 runners at the St. Norbert Invitational.
This was Bryan's best collegiate race of his career, as his
time of 21:03 was over one minute faster than his time at
the same meet last year. Schneider also helped lead
the men's team to a second place finish. |
