| September 15, 2008: Week #2 |
DEFENSE
Ryan Andersen
Junior

Andersen did a little bit of everything Saturday afternoon, leading the defense to a conference-opening 14-3 win over Lake Forest. Andersen had a team-high 10 tackles, including two for a loss, while also recording an interception and a sack. He also broke up a pass. This marks the first time in 65 games that the Red Hawk defense did not allow a touchdown. |

SPECIAL TEAMS
Joshua Kraemer
Senior

Kraemer was a huge spark to the Red Hawks
in Saturday’s 45-20 win over Illinois College.
With Ripon leading 10-6 mid-way
through the second quarter, the senior
defensive back fielded a punt and returned it
70 yards for a score. Kraemer returned two
punts on the day for 68 yards (34.0 avg.),
while also returning four kickoffs for 106
yards (26.5 avg.), which included a long of 48 yards. |

DEFENSE
Joshua Kraemer

Joshua Kraemer was a big part of Ripon College’s outstanding defensive effort in Saturday’s 28-10 victory at Carroll University, which saw the Red Hawks get seven takeaways. Kraemer was responsible for three of those takeaways, all coming in the final quarter. In that quarter, he recorded a sack and forced a fumble on the play, which was recovered by the Red Hawks. He also intercepted two Pioneer passes, which helped preserve the victory. Kraemer made eight tackles on the day, including three for loss. |

SPECIAL TEAMS
Bob Wood

Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington |
Wood connected on two of his three field goal
attempts in Saturday’s 19-7 win over St. Norbert
College. He made good on kicks of 22 and 34
yards, with his first kick giving the Red Hawks a
10-7 lead, just seconds before halftime, giving Ripon the lead for good, en route to their first win over the Green Knights in ten meetings. |

Joshua Kraemer

Kraemer put an exclamation mark on Ripon’s 50-7 win over Grinnell on Saturday, returning a kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown with just over one minute left in the game. That is the second-longest kick return in Ripon history and gives him two kickoff returns for touchdowns in his career. He returned two kicks against Grinnell for 114 yards (57.0 avg.), while also returning three punts for 77 yards (25.7 avg.), which included a long of 43 yards. |

Jeni Yaeger

Yaeger led the Red Hawks to a pair of Midwest Conference victories last week, as Ripon improved their conference record to 3-1. Yeager registered a team-high 12 kills during Ripon’s five-set victory over Grinnell, before adding seven more in a three-set victory over Knox. In addition to her 19 kills, Yeager tallied 12 digs, five solo blocks and four block assists in the two games combined. |

OFFENSE
Demba Camara

Gambia/Sun Prairie |
Camara helped lead Ripon to a pair of wins during the week, 9-0 over Finlandia, and 3-2 at Edgewood in overtime. Camara contributed on half of the team’s 12 goals on the week, scoring two goals, while assisting on four others. In their win against Edgewood, Camara scored a goal and assisted on the two other scores, which accounted for all the Ripon goals in the game. |

Brittany Dick
Senior
Amherst, Wis./Amherst |
Racing for the first time since the 2006 Division
III National Meet, Brittany Dick won the Ripon
Invitational on Saturday, with a 5K time of 20:39.
That was better than the 74 other participants.
Brittany, who sat out all of last season and the first
four races this season due to injury, helped lead the
Red Hawks to a season-best fourth place finish out
of the nine teams that took part in the event. |

Jessica Davey
Junior
Berlin, Wis./Berlin |
Davey won the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Concordia (WI) University on Saturday. She placed first out of 110 runners and led the Red Hawks to a second place finish out of fifteen teams. Davey’s time of 19:18 is her career best and ranks 11th on Ripon’s all-time list for a 5K race. This marked Jessica’s second career meet victory, with the first coming at the Concordia (WI) Invite in 2006. |
