Box Score vs. Monmouth

Ripon took on two Midwest Conference South Division schools over the weekend, and came out of each match with differing results. The Red Hawks won the first match-up 6-3 at Knox College, but dropped their second match of the day, a 7-2 loss at Monmouth College.

In their first match of the day, against the Prairie Fire (5-5), Ripon won three singles matches, while sweeping the three doubles matches. Ben Sweeney, Dan Weiler, and Alex Momich each won their singles matches in two sets, as they were victorious in number two, four, and six singles, respectively. In doubles play, Sweeney teamed up with Dave Czarnecki to win number one doubles 8-2. Weiler then teamed up with Jay Hardacre, while Momich paired with Dan Rodriguez, to win 8-2 and 8-0, respectively.

The Red Hawks (3-6) weren't as fortunate in their second match of the day, a 7-2 loss to the Fighting Scots (6-3). Czarnecki and Momich were the only two victories for Ripon, winning the number one and six singles, respectively. Czarnecki won his match 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, while Momich won 6-3, 6-3.

Ripon will face a tough task in their next match, a date with four-time defending MWC Champion Grinnell College on Friday. That match will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Ripon.
