Box Score vs. Concordia (WI)

JACKSON, Wis. - Ripon not only won their first match of the season Saturday afternoon, but also their second, defeating MSOE 8-1, before disposing of Concordia (WI) 9-0. The matches were played at Pleasant Valley Tennis Club, with the three teams being joined by St. Norbert College.

The only match Ripon lost all day was the number three singles match against MSOE. Ripon's Dave Czarnecki, Ben Sweeney, Dan Weiler, Dan Rodriguez, and Alex Momich all recorded victories against the Raiders in singles play. They went on to win all three doubles matches as well, as Czarnecki and Sweeney teamed up, while the teams of Weiler/Schaller and Rodriguez/Jay Hardacre were also victorious.

Things only got easier for the Red Hawks as the day went on. They won all nine matches they played against Concordia, with all but one match being decided in two sets. Winning their singles matches were Czarnecki, Schaller, Sweeney, Hardacre, Weiler, and Rodriguez. Ripon also dominated doubles play, winning all three matches. The closest match was the number one doubles victory by Czarnecki and Sweeney, who won 8-5.

Ripon will now take a few weeks off, before resuming their season on Saturday, March 29th. They'll play a couple matches that day, as they'll  take on both Knox College and Monmouth College.
