 RIPON, Wis. - For the first time this season, a Ripon College men's tennis player has earned the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week award. The honor was bestowed upon Senior Ben Sweeney for his play last week in which he helped Ripon defeat Carroll College 5-4, to give the Red Hawks their 16th consecutive conference victory.
Against the Pioneers, Sweeney netted a pair of critical points for the Red Hawks. The Shorewood, Wis. native won his Number two singles match by defeating Michael Wajda 6-1, 6-1. He then teamed up with Dave Czarnecki to win the Number one doubles match by a score of 8-3.
