Doubles Point Makes Difference in 4-3 Win Over Lake Forest

Ripon, Wis. - Ripon's No. 1 and 2 doubles team's pulled out wins, which was the difference in the match, as the Red Hawks defeated Lake Forest 4-3. Paul VandenBoogaard and Dave Czarnecki took the win at No. 1, 8-4 and Ben Sweeney and Dan Weiler had the victory at No. 2, 8-4. With the win, Ripon improved to 1-1 on the season.

VandenBoogaard and Czarnecki also had points for Ripon at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively. VandenBoogaard won his match 6-2, 7-5, while Czarnecki took it 6-0, 6-1. The rubber match was Weiler's, as he defeated Andy Keca (LF) 6-2, 6-3.

  • No. 6 singles Hiemenz (LF) def. Ryan Manis (RC) 6-2, 6-0

The Red Hawks will play next on Saturday, February 18 at 9 a.m. The match will be at Michigan Tech.
