Lance Gordon took over the Ripon men's soccer program prior to the 2009 season. In his initial season as head coach, the Red Hawks finished 5-12-1, with four of those losses coming by a single goal. He also led Ripon to a 4-5-0 record in the Midwest Conference, which was the most conference wins in a season by the Red Hawks in four years.
Prior to coming to Ripon, Gordon spent three years as head coach of the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley. In his final season with UW-FV, Gordon led his squad to a 14-2-1 record, which culminated with him receiving the 2008 WCC Coach of the Year award. In his three years at UW-FV, Gordon led the school to a 27-18-2 record.
In addition to his tenure at UW-FV, Gordon has also served as a women's varsity assistant coach at Menasha High School and as the head coach and trainer for the Appleton Soccer Club.
Gordon has served on the Mount Horeb Soccer Club Board of Directors, as well as the Mount Horeb Soccer Club Director of Coaching. He earned his USSF National "C" Certification in 2006 and is also certified in NSCAA Goalkeeper Training.
Gordon received his bachelors degree in History and History of Science from UW-Madison in 2004. |
