Red Hawks End Regular Season With Loss

October 24, 2009

Box Score

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Ripon's regular season came to an end Saturday, with a 5-0 loss to Carleton College (Minn.) on the final day of the Red Hawk's Fall Trip. Carleton led 2-0 at halftime, but pulled away in the second half for the victory.

Carleton (13-3) didn't waste much time, scoring the first goal of the game just two and a half minutes in when Brett Adelman found the net on an assist from Ryan Cammarota. In the 25th minute, Cammarota again assisted on a Carleton score, this time off the foot of Tim Willis, as the Red Hawks went into halftime trailing 2-0.

The second half began with Cammarota on the other end of the goal, as he scored in the 50th minute on a Tyler Bechtel assist, to put Carleton up 3-0. They would get two insurance goals in the final 10 minutes thanks to Miles Silbert and Ryan Hafner, to seal the victory.

Ripon goalkeeper Joe Bushman played all 90 minutes, saving 10 shots. Carleton's Jerry McIntyre saved six shots on the day, while also playing the full game. Ripon was out-shot 24-10, including 13-3 in the final period.

Despite the loss, Ripon still remains in contention for a spot in the 2009 MWC Tournament, depending on what Illinois College and Lake Forest do later this week. Continue to check www.ripon.edu/athletics for more information about the Ripon men's soccer team's postseason chances.
