St. Mary's Blanks Red Hawks

September 28, 2008

Box Score

RIPON, Wis. - St. Mary's University's Adam Lindsay was a thorn in Ripon's side all day on Sunday, in Ripon's 2-0 loss to the Cardinals. Lindsay scored the only two goals of the game, both coming within four minutes of each other in the first half. The Red Hawks were competitive, shooting the ball 13 times, but they just couldn't get anything to fall into the net.

The scoreless tie was broken in the 15th minute, when Lindsay took a pass from Ryan Rademacher and found the back of the net. Lindsay followed that up in the 19th minute on an unassisted goal, in which he went one-on-one with the Ripon goalkeeper.

Ripon's Ryan Crane started the game as goalie, saving four shots, while Matt Schultz played the second half between the pipes, recording one save. Kevin Cedarholm and Chris Quillman each had three shots for the Red Hawks (2-8), but were denied each time. Freshman Ben Baron was third on the team, with two shots.

The Red Hawks will jump back into conference play next weekend with a huge match-up against St. Norbert on Saturday. That game will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Ripon's Prairie Field, and will be preceded by the women's contest with the Green Knights.
