MONMOUTH, Ill. - The Red Hawks scored their only goal of Sunday's game against Monmouth College in the second half to tie the game, but neither team could come through with a score in either overtime, as the game ended deadlocked at one. Ripon out-shot the Fighting Scots 20-10 in the game, including a 6-1 advantage in the overtime periods.
Monmouth (2-9-1, 0-3-1 MWC) scored quickly in the first half, as Lucas Knox netted his second goal of the season, receiving a pass from a corner kick in the fifth minute. The Fighting Scots then helped Ripon (2-11-1, 0-5-1 MWC) out in the second half with an own goal in the 66th minute to tie the game at one. Neither team would find the net after that point, as they are both still searching for their first conference victory.
Ripon will return home next weekend, as they'll host Grinnell College on Saturday. That game will begin at
1:30 p.m. and will be preceded by the women's contest.
