Edgewood Gets Best of Red Hawks In Second Half

September 1, 2007

Box Score

RIPON, Wis. - Ripon played Edgewood as tightly as they could for one half of play. The two teams went into halftime tied at zero, but the Eagles came away with the win in what was the season opener for both teams, thanks to two second half goals.

Nearly five minutes into the second half, Edgewood's leading scorer from a year ago, Kevin Fisher, scored his first goal of the season on an assist from Stephen Mesdjian. Four minutes later, Shaun Glynn gave Edgewood some breathing room with a goal of his own. The two teams stood pat the rest of the way, with neither team converting on another scoring opportunity. Edgewood outshot the Red Hawks 20-3 on the day. Ripon freshman goalie Bob Bradbury got his first taste of collegiate soccer, making seven saves, including five in the first half.

The Red Hawk's next game will be Sunday afternoon, as they'll host Finlandia University (MI) at 1:00 p.m.
