RIPON, Wis. - Ripon dropped their eighth consecutive game Tuesday, losing 7-0 against UW-Oshkosh. The Titans scored three goals in the first half, before adding four more in the second period. Prior to their eight game slide, the Red Hawks had a string of seven games without a loss.
UW-Oshkosh (13-2-1) was in attack mode for the majority of the first half, getting off 14 of their 22 shots in the opening period. They broke a scoreless tie in the sixth minute on a goal by Brian Miller. Brandon Briones would add to that lead with his first goal of the game. Clayton Ransom then found the net in the 38th minute, giving the Titans a three goal advantage.
It took UW-O longer to score in the second half, but when they did, the goals came in bunches. Briones recorded his second goal of the game in the 68th minute, which was followed by an Alex Lanser goal just five minutes later. Eric Minten would also get into the action, scoring the final two goals of the game to cap the scoring.
The Red Hawks (4-8-3) attempted three shots in the game, including two in the second half. They managed six saves in the game, one by Matt Schultz and five by Bob Bradbury. UW-O's Derek Christiansen made the only save for the Titans.
Ripon will try to get back to their winning ways on Saturday, as they'll get back to conference action by hosting Monmouth College. That game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and will be preceded by the women's contest against the Fighting Scots at Prairie Field.
