RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks entered the final day of regular season play still in contention for a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament. Unfortunately, that would be their final day of the season, as they dropped their regular season finale 4-3 to Illinois College.
Ripon (5-9-3, 3-5-1) got on the board first thanks to a Chris Quillman goal in the seventh minute, with the assist credited to Demba Camara. Illinois College (5-10-3, 1-7-1) tied things up just six minutes later on a goal by Chris Schulte. In what was a back-and-forth game all afternoon, the Red Hawks grabbed the lead again in the 14th minute. This time it was Camara on the scoring end of the goal, as he received a pass from Roger Gardea. The Blueboys would tie things up again in the 21st minute, as Cameron Stuart knotted the score at two. That's where things would stay as the two teams headed to halftime.
Illinois College would take their first lead of the game in the 57th minute, as Zack Patton received a pass from Matt Korte for the score. That lead only lasted 11 minutes, as Camara scored his second goal of the game in the 68th minute, thanks to an assist by Quillman. With ten minutes to play in regulation, the game remained tied, until Illinois College's Jason Stretch found the back of the net for the game-winner.
