ST. PAUL, Minn. - In their second and final game of the ACM soccer tournament at Macalester College, the Red Hawks were sent back to Ripon with a loss. Ripon fell to 0-2 on the season, with an 8-0 defeat at the hands of Colorado College. The Red Hawks managed just three shots, all in the first half, while facing 38 shots from Colorado College.
The first and second halves were identical for Colorado College, who scored four goals in each period. They didn't waste much time getting things going, scoring their first goal in the third minute. Their other three goals of the period came in the 15th, 21st, and 31st minutes. They put the game away with four goals by four different players in the second half. Ripon managed to save 10 shots in the game, six from Bob Bradbury and four from Matt Schultz.
The Red Hawks will look to crack the winning column for the first time on Thursday, when they'll face Finlandia University (MI) in Ripon's home opener. That game will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will be preceded by the women's contest against Finlandia.
