Ripon Keeps Momentum Going Against Beloit

September 15, 2007

Box Score

RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks won their third straight game Saturday, defeating Beloit College 2-0, extending Ripon's unbeaten streak to five games. Ripon was relentless on the offensive end, out shooting the Buccaneers 16-4 during the contest. Ripon got one goal in each half, en route to the victory.

Jared Brown got Ripon off to a good start, scoring the first goal of the game in the 10th minute, as he took a Zach Hershoff pass and booted it into the back of the net. That goal marked the third goal of the season for Brown. The two teams played each other evenly the rest of the half and Ripon took a 1-0 lead into the half.

The second half started much like the first half began. Ripon's Demba Camara scored the second and final goal of the contest in the 50th minute, heading the ball into the net off a rebound from a corner kick. The Red Hawks took 11 of their 16 shots in the second half and were never really threatened, as Beloit never recorded a shot on goal.

Ripon will try to keep their positive mojo going on Tuesday, when they'll travel to Lawrence University. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. in Appleton, Wis.
