GRINNELL, Iowa - Grinnell scored twice in the first half to take control of Sunday's game, defeating the Red Hawks 3-0. The Piioneers out shot Ripon 24 to 13, including a 13 to five advantage in the first half.
Grinnell's Farai Rusinga got the scoring started, taking a pass from Sean Miller to take the lead. Mark Rosenberg added to that lead in the 38th minute, scoring on an unassisted goal. The Pioneers (6-4-1, 4-1) weren't done yet, as Andrew Walsh capped the scoring with the lone second half score. Ripon's Bob Bradbury made six saves for the Red Hawks (4-5-3, 2-2-1), including five in the first half.
The Red Hawks will be back in action on Saturday, as they'll take on St. Norbert College in a huge conference match up. That game is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. in De Pere, Wis.
