RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon men's soccer team returns three Midwest Conference Second Team performers to this season's team, which finished one game out of the final spot for the MWC Tournament. With the 2008 season on the horizon, the Red Hawks were picked to finish seventh in the MWC preseason coaches poll.
The Red Hawks garnered more votes than Monmouth, Knox, and Illinois College, who finished eighth, ninth, and 10th, respectively. Carroll University was a unanimous choice to finish atop the conference, with nine first-place votes. St. Norbert finished second in the poll, receiving the only other first-place vote. Grinnell finished third in the voting, followed by Beloit, Lake Forest, and Lawrence.
