RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks continued their early season success last week, defeating Lake Forest 2-1 in their conference opener, while also ending in a tie at two against MSOE earlier in the week. A key to their 1-0-1 record last week was the play of junior Demba Camara, who was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday, as released by the conference office.
Camara ended the Red Hawks’ four-game conference losing streak when the midfielder’s blast from nearly 35 yards away found the back of the net. The goal, which came in the 77th minute, lifted Ripon to a 2-1 home victory over Lake Forest. Camara also added an assist on a Jared Brown goal in Tuesday’s match against MSOE. Ripon trailed 2-0 at the time, before rallying to finish in a 2-2 tie.
