The Red Hawks have been close to getting their first win of the season, but never as close as they came Friday night. It took three periods for Macalaster to defeat the Red Hawks in what was a defensive battle all night. Macalaster finally broke into the scoring column in overtime with the only goal of the contest.

Although Ripon managed just four shots all night, they remained in the game despite Macalaster's 32 shots, 11 of which were shots on goal. Macalaster was denied again and again by Red Hawk goalie Dave Freisleben, who recorded nine saves. He couldn't however, get his 10th save, allowing Macalaster to score in the 95th minute. Carson Gorecki scored the goal, his second of the season, which came unassisted.

Ripon will look for their first win on Sunday, as they'll continue their road trip at St. Mary's. Gametime will begin at 1:00.
