RIPON, Wis. - Carroll came firing right out of the gates Sunday,
scoring the first goal of the game in the sixth minute. That propelled
the Pioneers to a 4-1 victory over the Red Hawks.
Carroll moved the ball well throughout the game. They took a 2-0
lead in the 15th minute, as Craig Carlson connected on a goal,
off a pass from Alex Goranson. The rest of the first half was rather
uneventful. Ripon was able to settle down after the second goal
and played Carroll evenly the rest of the half.
The second half began much like the first, with a Carroll goal.
Dona Lado got them on the board this time, with an assist from
Dan Shuder. Ripon fought back nine minutes later, as Chris Quillman
scored his third goal of the season, all of them coming in the
last three game. That would be all the Red Hawks could muster however,
and Carroll would put the game on ice in the 67th minute with the
final goal of the game, off the foot of Joey Shoemaker.
Ripon will try to get back in the win column in their next game,
when they'll travel to UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday, October 25th. Gametime
will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Oshkosh.
