RIPON, Wis. - It took twelve games, including six one goal losses,
but Ripon finally found that elusive first win of the season Sunday
afternoon. The Red Hawks (1-11, 1-5) defeated Knox College (2-6-2,
0-4-1), 1-0 in an intense battle.
The first half was evenly played with neither team getting on
the board. Ripon finally broke through with a goal in the 53rd
minute, as Andrew McKee dumped off a nice pass to Chris Quillman
for the lone goal of the contest. From there, Ripon let their defense
carry them to victory.
Ripon will look to begin a string of victories next Sunday, as
they'll host Carroll College at 1:30. That game will be preceded
by the women's contest.
