Ripon Finishes Sixth and Seventh as Host Team

RIPON, Wis. - Mother Nature cut a day off the Ripon Invitational Tournament this weekend, pushing the event to Sunday. The Red Hawks tried to make the most of it though, as they competed in two teams which finished sixth and seventh out of eight squads. Carthage's "A" squad won the tournament with a score of 310.

Ripon's "A" team shot a combined 361, which was 16 strokes behind fifth place St. Norbert. Ben Lukoski led the team with a score of 89. His teammates weren't far behind, as Bob Faulds and Raj Pelon each shot a 90. Ryan Jahns and Bill Olm finished with 92 and 100, respectively.

The "B" team finished the tournament 32 strokes behind the "A" team, as they shot a 393. Billy Kollatz led the second squad with a 90, while Ross Oberslake was the only other Red Hawk to break the century mark, by shooting a 95.

Ripon will play in two more tournaments next weekend. They will travel to Beloit to compete in the Buc Open on Saturday, before moving on to Waukesha to take part in the Carroll Co-Ed Open on Sunday. The tournaments will begin at 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., respectively.
