Ripon's opening season tournament turned out to be more of a battle with the elements, rather than a battle with the golf course. After one day of action, the Red Hawks pulled out of the Scot-Fire Invitational at Galesburg, Ill. due to cold weather. They were among eight teams that did not finish the tournament.

Through the first day of the tournament, Ripon shot a combined 388. Raj Pelon led all Red Hawks with an 86. Bob Faulds shot a 100, while Ryan Jahns and Ben Lukoski each finished with a score of 101. Bill Olm rounded out the team's first day scores with a 102.

The Red Hawks will hope for better weather this weekend, as they'll host the Ripon Invitational at Lawsonia Golf Course in Green Lake. Friday's action will begin at 10:00 a.m. The tournament will continue on Saturday with a tee time of 8:00 a.m.
