RIPON, Wis. - After losing six players from last year's team, including three starters, most people don't know what to expect from this year's Red Hawk basketball team. Wednesday, they were picked to finish sixth in the Midwest Conference preseason poll, coming off a season that saw them finish third in the conference.

The poll was led by defending MWC regular season champion Grinnell College, who received six first place votes. They were followed by Lawrence and Lake Forest, who garnered three and one first place votes, respectively. St. Norbert was picked to finish fourth, while defending MWC tournament champion Carroll College was picked just in front of Ripon, at the number five spot. The poll was rounded out by Monmouth, Illinois College, Knox, and Beloit.
