RIPON, Wis. - Senior center Brian Schmitting did all he could in an effort to help the Red Hawks move on in the MWC conference tournament. Schmitting’s career high 32 points in Ripon’s 92-79 loss to Carroll College pushed the senior center over 1,000 points for his career. The Hilbert, Wis. native finishes his four stellar years at Ripon with 1,003 career points.
Schmitting is the 26th player in Red Hawk history to reach the 1,000 point plateau, as teammate and fellow senior Bo Johnson accomplished the feat earlier this season. Schmitting, who led the team in scoring this season, averaged 17.7 points per game. Schmitting also ranks fourth on Ripon’s all-time rebounding list with 535, including a school record tying 20 boards earlier this year in a game against Carroll.
