RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawk defense did not allow a touchdown on Saturday for the first time in 65 games, en route to a 14-3 victory over Lake Forest in the conference-opening game for each team. A big reason for the defense's dominance was linebacker Ryan Andersen, who on Monday, was awarded with the Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week award.

Andersen did a little bit of everything against the Foresters, recording a team-high 10 tackles, including two for a loss, while also intercepting a pass and sacking the Lake Forest quarterback once. The junior from Racine, Wis. also broke up a pass. This is the first time Andersen has received the MWC Performer of the Week Award.
