RIPON, Wis. - Already having won nearly every possible postseason award, Ripon defensive back Joshua Kraemer continues to pile up the hardware. Kraemer was the only Red Hawk selected to the d3football.com All-West Region team, making the team on both defense and special teams. The senior from Waukesha, Wis. was named to the second team as a defensive back, while earning third team honors as a kick returner.
As a defensive back, Kraemer intercepted six passes for the second consecutive season, giving him 17 for his Red Hawk career, which is tied for fourth on the school's all-time list. He also recorded 55 tackles, which was fourth-best on the team, including three and a half for a loss. Kraemer led the team with three forced fumbles, while recovering another and breaking up a team-high nine passes.
Kraemer's play on defense helped lead Ripon to an 8-2 record, their best mark in seven years, but his play on special teams was just as electrifying. As a punt returner, Kraemer led the Midwest Conference with an average of 13.2 yards. He was also second in the MWC in kick returns, averaging 28.4 yards per return. On the season, Kraemer scored four touchdowns (two KR, one PR and one INT).
