RIPON, Wis. - A big reason for Ripon's 28-10 victory over Knox College was the Red Hawks winning the field position battle. Freshman punter Kurt Roeder had a lot to do with that and Monday, Roeder was named Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week, as released by the conference office.
The Beaver Dam, Wis. native punted the ball five times for a 37.2 net average. Roeder was able to pin Knox inside the 20-yard line on two separate occasions, while also recording a career-long 62 yard punt. Roeder also added a tackle and broke up a pass as a defensive back.
