Red Hawk Men And Women Run At Regionals

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Both men's and women's cross country teams finished near the middle of the pack at Saturday's Regional meet at Augustana (Ill.) College. The men came in 24th place out of 45 teams, with a team score of 725, while the women finished 22nd out of 45 teams with 672 team points.

The Red Hawk men were led by Michael Dussault, who was the 107th runner to cross the finish line, ending with a time of 27:04.5. Ben Worcester had the next-best finish by a Red Hawk, with a time of 27:07.2, which placed him two spots behind Dussault. A.J. Thew and Lucas Felten were third and fourth on the Red Hawks, finishing in 141st and 153rd place, respectively. Thew ran a time of 27:43.3, while Felten had a time of 27:54.3. Cody Jolin helped round out Ripon's team score with a 215th place finish out of the 266 runners that finished the race.

Ripon's women's team saw Jessica Davey take home 55th place in the event, with a time of 23:21.7. Erin Beggs was second on the team with a 102nd place finish, which saw her run a time of 24:26.5 on the 5K course. Nikki Weichbrod and Laura Reuling finished 149th and 173rd, respectively, with times of 25:16.9 and 25:58.1. Alaina Nesbitt's time of 26:31.4 was fifth among Red Hawks and 193rd among the 286 runners that finished the race.
