Jessica Davey Named To National All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Ripon sophomore Jessica Davey was one of 203 Division III female student-athletes to be named to the 2007 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, as released by the USTFCCCA. In addition to Davey, the Ripon men's and women's cross country teams were each honored with USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

The individual award goes to student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.

The team award is given to schools that have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet, while also having a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average. Ripon's men's team ended the semester with a 3.31 cumulative GPA, which was tied for 47th in the country. 98 men's teams made the list out of 379 Division III schools. The women's team tied for 68th-best, with a 3.40 cumulative GPA. 141 women's programs received the honor this year, out of 390 Division III institutions.
