BELOIT, Wis. - For the first time in school history, the Ripon
Women's cross country team is the champion of the Wisconsin Private
Colleges Championships. The Red Hawks won with a team score of
62, which was 14 better than second place Beloit and St. Norbert.
Brittany Dick led Ripon once again with a second place finish
overall. Dick ended up with a 5K time of 19:06. Jessica Davey wasn't
far behind, finishing in ninth place with a time of 20:50. Rebecca
Duley also had an outstanding day, finishing 11th with a time of
20:58. Erin Beggs was also in the top 25 of individual finishers,
coming in at 13 with a time of 21:07.
The men's team did fairly well themselves, finishing fourth overall
with a score of 96. Bryan Schneider led the Red Hawks with an 8K
time of 27:11. Harrison Smith finished 11th, while Andy Peck came
in 17th, with times of 27:49 and 28:16, respectively.
The Red Hawks have next weekend off for Fall Break, before running
back into action at the Midwest Conference Championships. The MWC
meet will be held October 28th at 11:00 am in Waukesha, Wis.
