The Red Hawks continued their strong running early in the season
on Saturday, proving that they can run with the best. The women's
team finished third out of 17 teams, while the men finished sixth
out of 16 teams.
The women finished with 139 points, which was better than each
of the six Midwest Conference schools that ran in the Invitational.
Brittany Dick once again led the Red Hawks, finishing fifth in
individual competition with a 5K time of 19:31. Dick was followed
by Rebecca Duley, who finished 25th with a time of 20:50. Jessica
Davey also earned a top 25 finish, finishing 25th with a time of
20:53.
The men also experienced success, receiving 130 points, which
was just one shy of fifth place MSOE. Bryan Schneider paced the
Red Hawks with a ninth place finish with an 8KÂ time of 26:50.
Jim Hein was second on the team with a time of 27:45. Harrison
Smith was the only other Red Hawk in the top 25, running a time
of 28:05. The Red Hawks will try to continue their great running
next week at the Concordia (Ill.) Invitational.
