RIPON, Wis. – The 2008 baseball All-Midwest Region Teams were announced on Wednesday, with a pair of Red Hawks being named to the third team. Freshman third baseman Nick Beaman and junior designated hitter Alex Duros earned the honor, helping the Red Hawks to a 27-10 record in the process.
Beaman finished his first season with the Red Hawks batting .385, which was third-best on the team. He also tied for second with nine doubles, and 36 RBI, while leading the team with four triples, seven home runs, 42 runs scored, and a .677 slugging percentage. Beaman also led the Red Hawks in total bases, with 88.
Duros was also one of the more productive players at the plate on this year's team, playing primarily as the designated hitter. The Mosinee, Wis. native batted .385, while leading the team in doubles (11) and RBI (41). Duros also smashed two home runs and scored 26 runs, while producing a slugging percentage of .515 and an on-base percentage of .437.
